About Ágota

My name is Agota, and I am a Fractal Drawing Trainer based in London. I work with Fractal Drawing as a practical self-awareness method, a way of exploring what is happening beneath the surface through lines, colours and patterns rather than relying only on words.

What first drew me to this method was its simplicity, because you do not need to be artistic, know how to draw, or have a clear question in mind.

A Fractal Drawing begins with only a white sheet of paper and a black pen. With your eyes closed, you allow your hand to create a continuous network of lines and the spaces that appear are then coloured with your eyes open, using coloured pencils and the principles of the method.

The finished drawing is only one part of the process, what interests me most is what happens while we create it and what we begin to notice through it.

We all develop patterns in our lives, often these patterns are so familiar that we no longer notice them. Fractal Drawing provides another way of looking at them, instead of starting with an explanation, we start with the drawing.

My role is not to tell you what you should see or feel, but I guide you through the structured process, help you understand how the method works and, where appropriate, support you in exploring the patterns that become visible. As the work develops, Fractal Drawing can move from simple observation and self-awareness towards more intentional drawing exercises focused on change, balance and creating different patterns.

I completed four progressive levels of training in the Fractal Drawing Method with Lélekvonal - the Hungarian Fractal Drawing training provider. My training began with the foundations of the method and continued through deeper work with awareness and presence, a specialised programme for working with older adults, and advanced training focused on conscious change and development.

What I bring to the method

My approach to Fractal Drawing is also shaped by many years of working with people in other areas of holistic wellbeing and self-exploration.

Since 2016, I have been practising in London as a Naturopath and Phytotherapist, Hormone Balance Advisor, Tibetan Singing Bowl Practitioner and a Menopause Naturally Practitioner. These different disciplines have taught me to look at the person as a whole rather than focusing on one isolated issue.

Fractal Drawing fits naturally into this approach because it combines structure with intuition. There are clear rules and stages to the method, but within them every drawing is individual, there is no "good" or "bad" drawing and no artistic standard you need to reach.

For me, its value lies in giving people another language through which to observe themselves - one made of movement, colour, shape and repetition.

Sometimes we already know exactly what we want to explore, sometimes we simply know that something keeps repeating and sometimes the drawing shows us where to start.
